Inspired by nownownow.com. A snapshot of what I am thinking about, building, and reading right now. Not the polished portfolio version, the actual current state.
Building
- Multi-country joint embedding model for the geospatial similarity engine. Currently validating cross-country generalisation on European cells.
- Polishing this site. Reflecting on what to put in the timeline so it reads as a story rather than a list.
- Reading code in the open-source Agno and MCP repos to keep current with how the tooling is evolving.
Reading
- Papers on retrieval-augmented generation for geospatial reasoning.
- Whatever ends up open in tabs from the Latent Space and Interconnects newsletters.
- Slowly, "Designing Data-Intensive Applications" again. It rewards re-reading.
Thinking about
- Where the right boundary sits between an LLM's tool-use capability and an explicit DAG. Some workflows want the model to decide; some want the engineer to.
- How to evaluate agent quality when there is no single correct answer (the "judge" problem).
- The ergonomics of a data-quality platform that scales by adoption rather than mandate.
Off the clock
- Running waterside trails near home in Almere.
- Cycling commute when the weather agrees.
- Studying Dutch toward B1.
